So many issues since Oreo it's not even funny. Now YouTube cause it to crash and boot loop. I've done the factory reset a couple times with nothing changing. Is there something less expensive than the Shield(hearing that Oreo broke some stuff there too) but better than the Mibox? Its gotten bad enough that I might try to put lineage on my old NP and run that for a while....
Maybe I'm just lucky but I've had zero issues with my mibox, and I've had it since launch. Everything works great.
I just installed the Oreo update a couple days ago. The box hadn't been used in a while, so the remote seemed to have come unpaired (we had lost the remote, I was using the ATV Remote app on my phone to do the update, we found it after I found that the box wouldn't accept my phone anymore after the update), but other than that, it runs pretty nice. Odd that a factory reset didn't help. Have you tried clearing the data from YouTube? What might be happening is that Android and the Play Store may be restoring backed up data from the previous version, if the data is corrupt in a way that causes YouTube to crash, that would cause your issue.
The only real issue I've found with the Mi Box 3's Oreo update, is that I can't use it with the HDMI passthrough option on my Xbox One S, I've read the oreo update still has some HDCP problems, so I assume that's the reason for those though. (It just appears as a light blue screen with no content)
lol I hear you brother. But have you tried the 2179 build yet?
I hear that has fixed some of the issues with this box.
