I do have a few questions.

• How does Chromecast work? Miracast?
• Does Netflix work at all?
• Does it support sufficient DRM for Amazon Prime Video to be installed and run?

I have the Shield TV on the family TV and the Mecool M8S Pro W (cheapo) in my room. I really am interested in being able to use Prime Video.

You will not know if the box is doing DD+ > DD downmixing until you stream DD+ Netflix or Amazon Prime DD+ video.

Plex & Kodi have their own inbuilt free Open source Dolby Decoders to manipulate audio. Even the Shield with No Dolby audio licence would produce the same results you are seeing with these 2 Apps.

I'm sorry but your tests prove nothing in regards to Dolby Audio support for Copy protected video streaming and DD+ audio downmixing.

It seems this device has very similar bugs like the first release Firmware on the Mi Box which also means passthrough audio support will likely be an absolute mess.

I am genuinely curious as to why this was deleted. I was considering buying the KM8 but there is limited information available.
