The Mi Box and Shield are pretty much the only official devices.

5.1 Audio passthrough ? (Buggy as hell on Oreo Mi Box)
With which Apps specifically ?
As an example, you cannot get 5.1 DD+ out of any Android TV media player unless you are HDMI connected to a DD+ capable audio receiver, when using the Netflix, Amazon Prime or any other DD+ copy protected streaming App.
Shield TV works with USB sound cards, including ones that have optical-out IIRC.
