Android TVs biggest problem is the lack of software support from tv makers and Google. TVs aren't phones that can be easily replaced every every 2 years. Tvs last way longer than phones and cost a lot more. The two year cycle crap doesn't fly with tvs.

Android TV 8.0 is fast and optimized. Better RAM use with numbers, I had 600MB free, now I have 970MB with the same apps open using AIDA64 on XIAOMI MI Box 3. We have Assistant, all major networks Netflix, HBO, Hulu FOX ESPN etc, news apps, weather apps, music Google Music, official Spotify and third party great Spotify apps too, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, security cams, smart thermostats and smart ac control apps. Game streaming services from Nvidia and Steam Link, Android Games. Chromecast, Miracast and Airplay (selection of 5 apps that usually cost $3) in one device. Basic Hands free Control with Home Mini or Assistant enabled device. Through enabled Assistant devices you can control other. Enough with the excuse not enough apps. Android TV is very good. I have 5 Mi Boxes 3, 1 Nexus Player (it's slow) and 1 Nvidia Shield TV. All running the latest OS. More critical components of the system update from Google directly without the need of wait Xiaomi and Nvidia. Give some love because with devices of $80 you can do more than the $250 Apple TV.
