Anyone else use Google Clock on their devices for a nice, dim screensaver option?

Yeah, sure lemme just use a 75-100 watt clock. Turn off the damn tv man, use a tablet or a real clock.

If I had some OLED type of TV, I might. But for my basic LED TV, I'd rather have the display off when not in use. I use the Chromecast slideshow (the Google one, I forget the actual name) after 15 mins and then display off after 30 mins.

I wish the alarm would let me wake up to shoutcast, pandora or iheart radio streams. My apartment is nothing but a RF dead zone, have to use Wifi calling with my T-Mobile, so waking up to AM/FM radio is not an option for my wife. She prefers to wake up to talk radio over music.

Bought Sony Dash, ran the Chumby firmware and that worked, but it only supports un-encrypted shoutcast streams.

So I bought a Grace Digital Mondo+, which supports shoutcast, iheartradio, pandora, etc, in addition to encrypted streams. However, it sucks as an alarm clock and doesn't always work. As a internet radio device, it kicks ass!! As a clock, meh...

Now Amazon has new device, the Echo Show, which looks almost exactly like the failed Sony Dash, but reading the reviews, it wont wake you up to internet radio and I dont like the idea of a microphone running 24/7 in our bedroom.

Id buy a 5" Android tablet and glue it to a block of wood if I knew the clock app (which has never failed me on my Galaxy S4 or LG G5) could wake you up to internet radio.

I would if I had an OLED TV.
