New Shortcuts:

  • Enables a new shortcut to instantly sleep your SHIELD by tapping Home + Back on SHIELD Remote or SHIELD Controller (2017)

  • Adds “Restart” option to Quick Settings. Long-press the Back button from the home screen to access Quick Settings

  • Adds "Power off" to Quick Settings for SHIELD Pro and SHIELD 2015 (devices with a physical power button)

System Improvements:

  • Adds ability to control TV volume from Chromecast apps when volume is set to CEC Volume Control (up and down 7 levels)

  • Adds 120 Hz display modes for supported TVs and monitors

  • Adds support for non-QWERTY keyboars such as AZERTY. Go to Settings > Preferences > Keyboard > Physical keyboards to manage

  • Adds new keyboard shortcuts for Android TV navigation:

    • Home (CRTL+ESC)

    • Back (ESC)

    • Recent Apps (ALT+TAB)

  • Access GFN and GameStream on-screen controls (Hold ESC)

Gaming Improvements:

  • Delivers NVIDIA Share to Android Oreo for taking screenshots, recording your greatest gaming moments, and streaming to twitch.tv. Go to Settings > System to enable

  • Improves accuracy of mouse movements in GeForce NOW and GameStream by disabling Android mouse acceleration

Sideload Support:

  • Adds keyboard and mouse support for PUBG Mobile.

  • Adds home screen app tiles for popular sideload apps like Chrome, Minecraft, Speedtest, and PUBG Mobile

New Settings:

  • Adds option to block Bluetooth pairing requests (Settings > Security & restrictions)

  • Adds ability to see last wakeup source (Settings > About > Status > Up time)

  • Resolves somes instances of SHIELD Pro becoming sluggish after a SHIELD software upgrade

  • Resolves instances of SHIELD system fan always running at maximum speed

  • Resolves issue where the Display mode setting was not persisting

  • Resolves instances where Talkback would become enabled after extended sleep

Apps:

  • Resolves rare instance in Netflix app where streams would fail to start

  • Resolves occasional instances in YouTube TV where video playback would stop after performing multiple seek commands

  • Resolves issue where a home screen channel was incorrectly being shown for SHIELD accessories app

Compatibility:

  • Resolves pairing issue with some Bluetooth connected speakers such as Samsung HW-J450 sound bar

  • Resolves issue with SHIELD Remote (2015) on older firmware where charging would take a long time

  • SHIELD controller (2017) requires a firmware update every time system language is changed with “OK Google” enabled to update hotword language. Firmware update text now correctly informs users about the language change.

And what about Dolby Vision support? Thats the only advantage Apple TV 4K has which they should implement to maintain the upper hand.

I see all these changes which seem amazing. But they still haven't fixed the major bug of ruining the home experience by using the new UI.... It is the worst home screen dare I even say worse than firetv.
