What is the easiest way to stream my on-device movie media files from my NVIDIA Shield TV to my smartphone without Wi-Fi?

by Etanla

Messing with Kodi and Plex seem daunting to just play on-device media movie files from my Shield TV to my smartphone over cell network. Can anyone please help me at least get started on how to do this??

Plex is pretty much tailor made for that exact thing. Why do you feel it's not suitable?

I don't believe you can cast your Shield to another device, like you would a phone to a TV, so my only suggestion would be to manually copy the file to the phone or portable media storage.

Out of curiosity, why do you need to do that? Are you downloading stuff directly to your Shield?

To answer your question, I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if you don't have any good choices here. Do you want to stream over Bluetooth?

How much media are we talking? Could possibly be a easy solution. I store our music library, 100gigs, on my google drive account. I use Kodi to stream it in the House, or the google drive app on my phone when I’m out.

Last I knew they still haven’t reopened plex cloud yet, I’ve had plex cloud for about a year or so and it works really well also, basically use it for streaming videos I also have on my google drive account.

Plex. Just use Plex.
