I side loaded the fireTV directv now app a few months back onto my Shield and it worked fine but now it’s requiring me to update it and then it opens the Amazon app but when I try to install the update it says there’s an issue with payment or something. Anyone have this issue lately??
Sideloaded apps don't update. You have to sideload the newer app each time.

Concerning the sideload. I know they only have the unmodified version on XDA. I don't have the Amazon app

Just switch to YouTube TV. I did from DirecTV Now and could not be happier. It sucks to not have the A&E channel but I find other means to watch shows from it. YouTube TV has been the best streaming app of any of the ones I have tried. It really has blown away my expectations.
Just download the newer version from XDA and overwrite it. Works fine after that.
