What smart TVs run android systems?

by SoCal1618

I’m looking into getting a smaller smart tv and would like the option to be able to add APK files to add apps that aren’t available to download. I’m thinking if they have the google play store I can use ESFile explorer.

Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.

Tv's with android tv OS are very laggy, you better buy a decent tv and a good android box.

If this isn't going to be your primary TV, an Android stick might do the trick.

I purchased a Sharp with Android TV......will not do it again. Support sucks, updates are behind, and proprietary junk clogs the works. Get an external box.

Smart TVs can be notorious for not regularly updating their OS. I would suggest considering a solid TV and high streaming box attached. If your set on the Smart TV with Android, research the company that makes the TV and their record on updating operating systems.

Mid level Sony Bravias have Android and are peppy enough for daily driving of simple things. Check subreddits, though, many of them won't take Bluetooth headphones. Picture is amazing.

And how do you propose to be able to control mobile/tablet/touchsceen Apps using the "Android TV" interface and it's simple D-Pad remote ?

Also realise tablet Apps usually display in Landscape mode when using Android TV.

They need another "Orentation" App to display in the correct portrait mode and even then a bunch of tablet Apps still fail to work properly with Android TV devices.

Blame Google for this tablet Android OS / Android TV OS - clusterfcuk of a situation.

For any sort of tablet Apps, use an external tablet Android OS device would be my advice.
