Suddenly can't find 5GHZ networks anymore, I can see neighbor's 5GHZ Wi-Fi

by ha966

When I installed my new tv tomorrow morning, everything worked fine. The tv found my 5GHZ Wi-Fi without any problem, when I had to restart my router because I changed a couple of settings, the TV couldn't find my 5GHZ network anymore. I factory resetted the tv, unplugged it for a few minutes, changed the SSID and I still could not find the network. It's a philips 43PUS7303/12 with android 7

Try lowering the Wi-Fi channel, i think my 55pus6501 is limit to channel 1-13 on the 5ghz spectrum.

Edit: just looked it up and these are the channels Phillips TV's support 5.0 Ghz channels: 36, 40, 44, 48

If it can see your neighbors router and not yours, then the problem is with your router. Try power cycling the router by unplugging it from the power for 1 minute. If that doesn't fix then try configuring the router to use a less congested frequency. There are apps like wi-fi analyzer (android) that allow you to see what frequencies are being flooded.
