EDIT: Be sure to check your resolution on your box after reboot. Mine was reverted to 720p. Switched it to 1080p all good now.

Made wi-fi way more unstable. So frustrating. I think I will just have to upgrade to a Shield.

YouTube doesn't work for me and I have noticed that WiFi speed is very low.

My wifi disconnects every 2 minutes, is there something a can do? It's impossible to watch anything

Now my device has a lot of lag even in the launcher, vlc cant play fluid the anime i was watching yesterday and youtube sometimes crash when i play very long videos.

Works well again if i restart the device, but after s few hours, this happend again.

The slow wifi bug seems to be back. It was fixed after beta update 2179. I tried flashing 2179 from recovery but it fails. Anyone know how to downgrade back to beta?

The first thing I actually noticed is that for BT devices the volume control has a new icon and the percentage of volume differs now.

Anyone else not able to use the Android TV remote app too? Seems broken now. Ffs.

Great update so far no issues, then again Oreo has always run well for me. Really happy with the Mi Box as of 8.0. Make sure to set your resolution back to 1080p/60Hz or 4K/60Hz, mine defaulted back to 720/60Hz.

Just installed the update. Ive never had wifi issues before and following this update my wifi is extremely slow. Started a factory reset which appears to have gotten stuck at "erasing". POS

Received on mine too (not in beta) it's fix the white on white volume slider.

Except that nothing new visually.

I had installed the beta Build 2179 which pretty much fixed the wifi disconnection issue. Now that I updated to the official 2303, the wifi problem is back!

The most significant change, if you ask me, is that Xiaomi is continuously working to make the oreo update stable instead of just promising to fix, they actually are trying. 👏

Any idea how on simple client in KODI I can get my IPTV 1080p channels to play video fluently? (audito is OK). Since upgrade to Oreo this is no longer OK. Also not after this update. Any trick I am missing?

mi box update stuck on newest update

Kodi stopped working on my unit after the update, yeee. It doesn't even open. Anyone else has this issue? I would try a re-install, but it would be a nightmare to re-configure everything :(

Wowzers, news surrounding this update isn't good. Has this issue been fixed yet.

Useless update for me, the only bug I had is still there: the path to my exFAT-formatted external hard drive keeps changing each time I turn it on (very useful to edit the source of your Kodi library and scan it whenever you start the box and hard drive...) and only one letter of its label ("I" for "Intenso") is displayed.

Netflix way smoother, no lags (big or small) seen last night. Looks good.

I use usb ethernet though.

This update just bricked my mibox, my 100/100 internet is not enough to stream netflix, kodi or youtube. Other devices from the house are streaming 4k just perfect. I wonder if i have to put it in a trash can and buy a Nvidia now.

Anyone have issues where screen turns off, like as if its doing a handshake or something for hdmi...or a resolution change? Seeing it in various places. Plex as the first place I noticed, with a known good mkv 1080p file that I watched just yesterday before this update. Then in Twitch app I've had it happen to. If i hit the power button on the remote to put it to sleep, and hit it again it will come back, but left to play on it wont come back. It does stop audio for a moment, then it comes back with audio on a black screen, acts like monitor just turned on as it shows input selection, but stays black.

Thought I remember people saying something similar before for hdmi issues but my search-fu isnt finding anything tonight.

This is defiantly new for me as I use this machine more or less once a day while cooking, and last night it was fine.

Have checked the display settings in the settings and all looks good. 1080p60. This is into an Acer monitor as well so it is almost less picky than a tv really.

Ideas?

Also specially for BT devices, I have a JBL charge and before this update the volume increase was marginally double whenever I tried to increase. But now this is better and the volume increases more evening.

Anybody have issues with google assistant not working properly after the update. Whenever I ask it to play a song or station it just says "ok, playing XYZ on spotify" or "streaming station on TuneIN Radio", but nothing happens and doesn't open the apps. Before the upgrade it still worked. I tried factory resetting the device a few times, and it seems to work fine at first, but then I get the problem again after an hour or so. Wonder if there's something in the background that's causing this to happen. Opening the app first doesn't seem to help.

The OS is Android Oreo 8.0. Google app for Android TV (Android TV) 3.4.1.204310203

So, i’m an old fart that acquired a mi box through my daughter about two years ago...technically only have enough knowledge to be dangerous but was able to install enough apps with kodi to watch tv shows and movies and YouTube how to vids...the box worked pretty much flawlessly until that friggin update...I’ve received at least one automatic update, perhaps two, but the all important one about 10 days ago that was meant to correct the ever constant wifi disconnects didn’t work BECAUSE IT COULDN’T STAY FRIGGIN CONNECTED LONG ENOUGH to receive the entire update - I think it provided three chances (3 dots bottom of screen) and on the third it appeared to get to about 90+% but then crapped out...i’ve factory reset a couple of times with the hope of either getting auto updates within the reset or on screen update messages but neither has happened.... Have not been able to locate / identify where / how I can get the latest update???

So i use AirPods with miBox and after this update on BT audio the volume has gotten so low to the point that even using both earpiece i can hardly hear, volume via TV is fine

Anyone else lose all 5.1 digital output via spdif cable? I had it before in Plex and HdHomeRun. After update I lost it in both no matter what audio settings I use.

Converted all my stuff in plex to AC3 because AAC was broken. Now AC3 doesnt go digital. And I thought it was plex only so I tried HDHomeRun which I had a couple 5.1 channels OTA and now those are 2 channel stereo only as well.

This sucks.

Does it fix the external hdd detection issues??
