Just went to my local Walmart and there was a shelf tag for a new Android TV box.

No evidence was present that any of these had ever been on the shelf.

Probably this Ematic box , if you follow the source link it refers to the "Jetstream" name
Lets hope its better than the mibox or at least has better support
Uses exactly the same SoC, (Amlogic S905X) as the Mi Box sold at Walmart. Expect it to struggle similarly with a lot of 4K content.
Two USB ports, ethernet, optical. What are the odds this thing will ship with Oreo? I'm heartened to see more Android TV items on the market.
Nice.
Anyone have an in store release date or info?
I wonder how Canadians can get their hands on it..
Alright /u/513, what's the word on this bad boy?
Be aware the AMLogic - Jetstream Android TV hardware will be using the exact same buggy Oreo AMLogic Kernel that the buggy AMLogic Xiaomi Mi Box and the buggy MECOOL KM8 is using.
So expect all the same problems and all the same issues unless by some miracle Jetstream developers have actually done some serious bug busting.
As I posted in another thread, this is the device manual
https://usermanual.wiki/E-matic/AGT418/html
it shows in the end pages that is using android 8.1, so maybe we get some bugs fixes (I've read in xiaomi forums that 8.1 fixes many problems, but it wont be released to the public and we had to wait for 9.0)
The specs say the USB and MicroSD slots are for watching your own media. Can you save to them? To download more apps or things?
One one in stock in the entire use
