if it is "Netflix approved" and downconverts DD+ it will replace the buged mibox

bobniborg1

$69 with ethernet port 2 USB and 8gb, seems like it has potential

flipside1o1

the article says something along the lines of this replacing the ageing mi box , though isn't it based on the same chipset ?

AgentZeroGA

Does it have a built-in chromecast like shield?

Sunny_Cakes

I wish android TV remotes would be more similar to the xbox media remote. Everything else is shit

npaladin2000

I'm kind of wondering if this will support Amazon Video. No way this will replace my SHILED gaming wise but it could be a very nice streaming-only box.

I know ATV is supposed to have Chromecast built in...but nowhere on the page or pictures do I see any "Chromecast" word. Little fishy

tarv_us

Crazy how this thing has Netflix support immediately, and we are still waiting for Netflix on the Channel Master Stream+.

JamesBong00420

Will this support NTFS external drives? Real sick of Amazon's restrictions. Mibox handles the beefy externals just fine

This seems to have come out of nowhere. Anyone have any info on sales in Canada other than reshippers?

shakuyi

what about HD audio?

chowder007

Any word if this will do DolbyV and HDR10?

rubenjavier

This is the device manual

https://usermanual.wiki/E-matic/AGT418/html

it shows in the end pages that is using android 8.1, so maybe we get some bugs fixes (I've read in xiaomi forums that 8.1 fixes many problems, but it wont be released to the public and we had to wait for 9.0)

Superiorwitt

Will you be able to use a tv tuner with this? maybe USB?

jmurph116

Cant find a release date for this anywhere.

Having purchased and used the Jetstream for a few months now after my MiBox died, I feel like both boxes are about the same. I only use the boxes for NetFlix, YouTube, and a streaming app for TV. I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in terms of performance, image quality, user interface experience, etc. Does a good enough job for my limited needs.
