After the mibox debacle you can count me out.

The T960X isn't a thing that seems to exist. The author of the tweet probably means T96X referring to the T962, T966, or T968. Of those it's probably the T968 which is used in some smart TVs. Doesn't seem to be a high end chip. The A53 cores are clocked a little higher than the Mi Box 3's SoC but it has a very similar low end GPU. The T962 and T966 have the same exact Mali 450 GPU as the Mi Box 3. The T966 at least also has its A53 cores clocked slightly higher.

Bet you it ends up NOT being a device that just plays all 4K content without dropping frames like the Shield does. Probably will still drop frames with some 4K codecs and frame rates in some apps like the Mi Box 3 does.

Also, with Xiaomi putting ads even in the 'settings' section of their smart phones, I think it's inevitable they do it sooner or later with their Android TV devices.

So is this going to launch anytime soon? I just ordered a Mi TV 4. If the launch is near, I could cancel the order and wait for the next generation TV.

TFW Chinese company product line names make more sense than Apple's one...
