I've been looking into purchasing an Nvidia shield TV as an upgrade from a Chromecast but everything I've read in my research has said that you can't use Google home to cast Netflix with a voice command. I know this will be a deal breaker for my girlfriend. Currently she just has to say, "ok Google, play the office" and the TV will turn on and start playing where she left off. Are there any workarounds to get this same functionality with the shield and Google home? Has this function been fixed since it was last posted about? Is there any additional functionality that would make up for this? I know you can't use voice to cast Hulu. Does that work with Android TV?
Yeah. It stinks. Only thing that would get you around this is to keep the Chromecast on a different HDMI port. Downside is you can't use the shield tv remote / controller to pause/ffwd/rewind if you use voice to start this way I believe.
