I was actually completely happy with the device until I made the horrible choice to install the update a couple months ago.

It's gradually getting slower and laggier, the wifi keeps disconnecting. Netflix has problems streaming shows in 4K (titles that usually have 4K available don't show that option on most days, only HD. Some days later it will show 4K again and then back to only HD again).

Also, the remote doesn't stay connected and the voice search is unbearably slow or just doesn't work at all. The sluggishness of the device is probably the factor that causes the most anger.

You've done a full factory reset, right?

Also, how's your internet speed? Switching from HD to 4K and back and forth sounds like a speed issue maybe?

Remote fails to wake up the box most of the time. I usually need to unplug/re-plug the power cord to reboot. Is there a fix for that?

Update to the latest version and use 1080p instead for better performance. If you want 4K, get another device. I use the mibox to play files from an HDD. For streaming, I use an Apple TV 4K.

5.1 DTS does not work. It skips. For 3 months since the update. So I have to get out my chromecast or a roku. POS.

About the only thing that has been fixed in 3 months is NTFS HDD usability.

Xiaomi seriously do not have a clue what they are doing and are incapable of fixing serious issues in a timely manner.

Problems with WiFi and BT connectivity and reliability on a device without Ethernet are unacceptable IMHO.

Funny, my MiBox 3 is running great since the update. It even allowed me to replace the LeanBack Launcher with another launcher.

Mine is absolute garbage since the update. Mine crashes and goes glitchy after fast forwarding (especially on youtube)

I also have had a few issues with eh remote but nothing major or consistent.

Dunno what to tell you try factory reset. Android Oreo runs awesome on my Mi Box I love using it now.

If you really want an upgrade man up and get the Shield TV it's better for sure.

I was thinking about buying this mi box since they are releasing an 'international' version aka mi box 5, but I guess better wait few months and enjoying my current setup built-in Android TCL 4k tv.

After updating to 2303 , Mibox is not functioning. WiFi is worst then ever... YouTube is not loading as well. (I tried factory reset twice) Any suggestions?

To All the People who are facing this Wifi Disconnecting Issue. Go to your Router Setting and Change your wifi channel to 11. Restart the Router and Boom it will start working. If it works then Please like my Page https://www.facebook.com/getpirated/ .
