I used the NordVPN app for a while and it always worked just fine, I used it to watch "RaiPlay" and "DPlay" (italian apps).
Now it's been few weeks that both apps don't seem to want to work, I tried to tweak the NordVPN app settings but nothing helps.
If I use the NordVPN app on my PC the websites of RaiPlay and DPlay work just fine so I don't think there's any special detection in place that blocks the VPN.
Anyone had a similar experience?
I’m pretty sure some apps update and make it more difficult for Android TV VPNs to bypass them. I had ExpressVPN work perfectly to watch MLB.tv last year, but this year they implemented a feature that prevented people from bypassing their restrictions. Different websites and apps also block proxy IPs so that you can’t continue using them. Pretty much every location with ExpressVPN is blocked by MLB.tv, unless use something in Europe but then it just lags.
Using Nordvpn for US (pbs) and France (arte, France tv, molotov) and NHL TV from Canada without issues.
I tried NordVPN with Netflix yesterday and after streaming for 2mins, things stopped working. deactivated it, uninstalled and now my Netflix app on AndroidTV is broken with error 5.2.5.
It seems to work fine on 1 profile and the kids profile, but my wifes account seems to be stuck with US programs on her account. After clearing data, resetting to old netflix app, restarting TV, updating Netflix, the issue still persists.
I have read about changing the surround sound to off so I will try that later, but it worked fine before NORDVPN with sound on auto.
Really do not want to factory reset the TV again lol
Edit: Turning surround sound to Never seems to have fixed the issue.
I couldn’t even get Nord to connect on my shield. It would try to connect then immediately disconnect no matter what I tried.
