I just ordered mibox. Seems like lots of people have issues with Oreo update so I'm thinking of not updating. Will I miss something if don't update?

Just received my mi box today and first thing I did was update to oreo. Everything works flawlessly, 4k movies (from Kodi) work without stutters etc.
I just bought a mi box, but no way I am upgrading anytime soon:
Why take the risk when the device does everything you need it to do?
Ofcourse if you -need- certain oreo functions, go update
you won't have the newest ui. that's it. my recommendation is not to update. last time i told someone that, they ignored it and were on here asking how to roll back a few days later. i fully get that mibox updated probably works PERFECTLY for like 70-80% of people. i just feel that 20-30% chance your device functions worse is too high.
The Oreo update saved my mi box. I'm not sure what everyones issue is but the mibox didn't work with netflix or a lot of other apps because of the issues with Nuget. IMHO the box is worthless unless you are streaming illegally without the Oreo update.
DO NOT UPDATE... nothing new, just troubles and will barely function, was probable the best android tv box available before update
I have one of those with the Oreo update and can't complain about it.
If you have amazon video subscription, than you need oreo, because on marshmallow the video sometimes stop for few seconds. Because this app does not supports officially mibox, you can just sideload it.
If you have some 4k display that has conflict with mibox while hdcp handshake, that will hapen on both android version.
I would probably say it is a hit or miss. One day you will have to update. So if I were in your place I would and see if its fine, if the bugs are big enough to not satisfy, then I would return it as I would have the chance to.
personally I have seen bugs in oreo but none of them are so huge that I would want to roll back. The oreo home launcher is far better so I prefer Oreo. Also one day you will have to restart the box anyways to finish the updates. make sure you factory reset if you update.
P.S I do not use it for 4K.
i just received my mi box yesterday and updated in oreo. seems working properly. can play any videos even 4k. mostly im using youtube and netflix.
So far I haven't updated. I'm on 6.0 everything is super smooth. YouTube sometimes gets funky but only if I turn on and off the captions or change quality. Update notification haven't popped up so far and I'm overall very Happy.
The newest update fixed those issues for me.
