Newcomer, looking for first box. I have three ideas so far...

by karateexplosion

I'm about a 6/10 tech savvy, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty a little bit but I'd prefer something that's pretty intuitive to setup.

Here are the three I'm looking at:

Scishion Android 8.1

RTVBox with Wireless Charging

MX10 Quad Core

They all have 8.1 and 4/32 ... what am I missing? Anybody have any experience with these and you'd recommend one over another? Is there anything else I'd need? I'm mainly going to be using this for running Plex (once I figure out how to set that up), and Kodi. Thanks!

/r/androidtvboxes This sub is for boxes with android TV (mi box, Nvidia shield), not Android(cheap Chinese boxes).

I can truly recommend the XJGUIDWNEL boxes. They are widely available on akazon.gy for exceptional low price.
They even throw in a free Kirgiz-Suomi translator.

Just be aware the Android Rockchip chipset boxes are not very compatible with Kodi vs the equivalent AMLogic ones.

If it is just Kodi or the Plex for Kodi Addon you need this forum has all the info:

LibreELEC is optimised Kodi for each hardware chipset. Runs better vs anything else.

Why not get a HTPC if kodi and plex is what you wanna run

Go for the Amazon FireTV. I have two and they are fantastic. It is important to have device updates and you get that with the Amazon FireTV. Plex can be added as can apps from your IPTV service provider.
