Also, I sometimes get a problem where the apps Aptoide says need an update say they don't exist. I can download the update, but when it gets to install, I get the error.

Are you using Aptoide TV ( https://m.aptoide.com/installer-aptoide-tv ) or the mobile app? Also can you tell what's the version that you have now?
I am running the apk and can run the app, but it doesn’t show up if I exit
