I use Puffin as well but don't surf on my shield. It only gets used when I need to authorize RD or Trakt. I know lots of people have side loaded Chrome or Firefox. Whichever you prefer
I just sideload Chrome because I prefer a mouse/keyboard when surfing. I see no benefit in a remote optimized browser.
But 9 times out of 10 when I want to quickly show someone a web page on my TV, I just cast my screen from my Android phone to my Shield.
I literally only use Puffin for NFL streaming so it does that one thing well and satisfies my needs for a browser on my TV.
Samsung Internet browser
Firefox works great and you can use uBlock on it. But it needs to be sideloaded.
