I had this issue. Most probably your motherboard busted due to moisture. Cost is INR. 10-15k for 32" LED. What Sony guys are saying?
samsungs were famous for having underrated capacitors on their power boards. they'd burst, causing a failure. before burst, the tv would turn on and off several times before finally turning on, until you got to the point of it not turning on.
replacing the $5 in capacitors on the board solved the problem.
might want to research power board issues.
I've had this issue and was scared it was hardware damage as the tv was one month out of warranty.
I was told by Sony support that you aren't meant to run the tv off a powerboard. Since plugging it into the wall it hasn't done this and the tv seems quicker to turn on and off.
Even just unplugging it for a bit and plugging it back in might help.
