Youtube alternatives (Newpipe and Smart Youtube TV)

Hi All.

a bit tired of the lack of customisation on the Youtube app. so I tried Newpipe.

interface is really for mobiles, and you have to manually go and play after you've selected a video. Also, it does, not have a leanback icon (no biggie)

Smart Youtube TV, it seems to open the Youtube app!?!?

what am I missing? Any suggestions on how to make these work properly, or other players?

I disabled YouTube on the TV and just force everyone to cast from their phones

Smart Youtube TV just looks a lot like YT, but it opens its own app. There no voice support, but no ads at all !

Smart Youtube works well for me. It's a bit slower in places, but it's worth it. I think they may have decompiled an earlier version of the youtube app which is why it looks identical.
