Anyone else having issues connecting android remote apps to their boxes?

I have 2 mibox and 1 shield in the house. I cannot connect to them using the "android TV remote" app or "remote android TV"

It seems like the auto discovery is broken. I can however use the shield TV remote app to connect to my shield if I type in the ip directly. But that does not auto discover it either.

i was having some connection issues with remote app since last week. i deleted data of android tv remote app in app setting in mi box. it is working now.

Nope. Probably your wifi router is messing up broadcasts or trying to play a "firewall". Not uncommon, especially on cheap equipment.

I had a problem connecting to my Shield for about a year. I finally just factory reset the shield and it started working again
