Mibox Slow Internet Download

I'm sure this has been answered before, is there anyway to fix this. I tried streaming a 1080p file in one of my clouds and realized there was buffering. Did a speed test and only get 20mb/s, I pay for 150 mb/s and all my devices in my house reach either the 150 or even above. The mibox just seems utter slow. Is there anyway to fix it without the usb Ethernet because my router is near but not near enough for a cable.

Have you tried to set the router wifi band to 5ghz?

Flash your box with build version 2179 which is the last verified version with proper network drivers intact.

Netflix & others are optimised to work under speed as low as 2-5 mpbs.

Suggestions:

  1. Try giving your Mi Box a static IP.
  2. If you have lots of app, try cleaning up some of the unused ones. And cleaning up the data/cache.

Srsly invest in a longer ethernet cable, it's a one time cost and will make a world of difference
