I'm looking for an android box that can read mkv file on a external hard drive in 4k, x265 and DTS. I also want that it can read 10 bits files and HDR.
In brief, I just want a Android Tv box that can read pretty everything on a external hard drive.

I have a MiBox for that and I hate all people that say "get a nvidia Shield", but I think they are write. Better get a Shield.
There are two Android TV devices that are readily available. I wouldn't ever recommend any other "box" that just runs a skinned version of Android.
I plug an external HDD into my oreo Mi Box and it plays 4K 10bit HDR no problem. I only have a DTS receiver, so i'm not sure about other codecs etc. Shield is nice, but much more expensive.
Avoid the Xiaomi Mi Box with Oreo, it has nothing but troubles with all passthrough audio like AC3 & DTS.
This combo in this post will give you the best bang for the buck, and yes play anything you throw at it, especially if you use LibreELEC Kodi:
Nvidia Sheild.

Shield is the best player out there for 4k and HDR. I have extensively tested 4k content and I dont have any issues
What do you think about MyGica atv 495 pro hdr and the matricom g-box q3 ?

for that sole purpose, Realtek RTD1295 probably is the best hardware.. and Zidoo has the best software.
I love my Nvidia Shield. I have the 16 GB version with a Flash Drive for expanded internal storage and an external hard drive as removable storage. I use a USB Hub to allow the use of additional removable storage, without having to remove the external hard drive. I haven't had to use any other device for my digital media since.
