HELP! I have a different and odd Android TV device and want to remove Leanback launcher!

by hpmp109

Hi all,

As the title says, I have a Freebox Mini 4k, which is an Android TV running version 7.1.1. It has Leanback Launcher installed as the default and I am looking to replace it.

Now I've read all the posts and I understand that I need to use Minimal ADB and Fastboot with USB Debugging enabled. All of which I understand and have done, the only issue is I can't seem to connect this darn box to my PC. It only has an HDMI slot and 2 USB slots (see here and here for photos) , which means I'm not quite sure how to connect. I've already tried a USB to USB cable and that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT 1: Managed to connect via WiFi debugging, except when inputting the command "pm hide com.google.android.leanbacklauncher" it comes up with " Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission.MANAGE_USERS. "

I believe the Leanback launcher isn't removable on Android TV devices, but I might be wrong. Have you tried installing another launcher?

Use a double male USB cable to connect to your PC. You say you tried to use a USB cable and it didn't work? Could there be something wrong with your PC if it's not recognizing your Android device?

why so much bugging with ADB, usb debugging, Install Lucky Patcher and freeze the Leanback Launcher, install another launcher and that's it :)
