Amazon prime will definitely come to mi box one day officially.. I bet it.

In India they launched official Android TV's running Android 8.1, they said in the event prime video support coming for all mi TV's,, so it'll definitely be coming for mi box as well

I’ve now tried FOUR versions of prime including this one. I can sign in and register my device, and see the content, but keep getting the same error when I go to watch anything.

I've had this working for months now. It's really quite awesome.

3 of 4 mi boxes work with Amazon Video_4.1.115.apk flawlessly. Anything higher and playback stutters.

My other mi box gets the playback error.

I have the same setup as OP, and while the app works, video playback stutters every minute or so. Also, occasionally it will just stop playback. Also, if you pause a video and allow it to go to screensaver, the Prime App will exit. Otherwise it's OK.

I'm in the same boat. I really don't know how some people get it to work. I use the official Prime apk (version 4.8.69. I just rip it from my own nvidia shield rather than use third party apk sites. same file in the end) and while I can login/register my box, browse movies and shows, anything I try to play just errors out. Just baffles me that people say "it works" when it never has for me.

I guess I just got lucky on whatever version I side loaded a year or so ago. Have always got 4k/hdr.
