Chromecast dongle vs Chromecast built-in app

Trying to get a sense of what the Chromecast ultra dongle can do that the Chromecast built-in app on Android TV can't. Thoughts?

Things I know of off the top of my head are ...

  1. Google photos in daydream mode
  2. Getting Google home to display certain content like weather on my TV
  3. Casting Netflix through Google home to tv (although an update is rolling out now to fix this)

You can Cast to a mains powered Dongle and have it turn the TV on Automatically via HDMI CEC.

Also where I live there is auto refresh switching for 25 fps content with the dongle.

The Chromecast Ultra does 4K HDR YouTube, the Shield is not even YouTube HDR capable.
