(Oreo 8.1) PS4 Pro not displaying 4K on the new Mi TV 4 LED Pro 55'

by sadbeautiful

As the title goes, I recently got a new Mi TV LED Pro 55' and hooked up my PS4 Pro to it. I noticed that the output resolution was 1920X1080@60Hz. When I tried to switch the resolution to 4K from the console, the options were greyed out. No luck on trying the Android TV settings either, there are very few of them in fact.

My output was HDCP 1.4 on my console, and I read that 4K video needs HDCP 2.2. Thing is, I can't find any settings to change this. Any suggestions?

Reverse the cables while connecting to the ports

Are you using the right port?

I have a xiaomi mitv3 from a few years back and I'm able to get 4k over HDMI. Not sure what's going on in your case but it's probably the cable or some random incompatibility.

You need HDMI 2.0 for getting 4K on the Ps4? I'm not sure, tag @laurelsudeep on the Twitter with the screenshots

Make sure you have a compatible HDMI cable that supports the signal. If that is not the case well then... my only suggestion, not all TV's are made equally, this why I will not buy anything made in China.

Vizio for instance, although an American company all their equipment is made in China. I had 3 of those TV's brought in to the office and had to send all of them back. They all had shitty Chinese made HDMI boards that wouldn't recognize the signal from the PCs connected to them. Swapped them out for Sony TVs and they work flawlessly.

Same experience with a Harmon Kardon engineered and made in China receiver. HDMI handshake issue like crazy. Went through two of those receivers and had the same experience. One actually blew up on me. Finally bought a Pioneer and have had it for 6 years with no issues.

I suggest you contact the TV manufacturer and check for firmware updates if it's not a cable issue.

TL:DR; Made in China expect sub par connectivity.

Are you located in Malaysia?

Malaysia is the only locale where MiBox sells hybrid/AndroidTV equipped tvs, correct?
