could be your cable....could be the update.
i would try another cable and if it works roll it back to an earlier version of oreo. there's a how to thread here somewhere that details the process. it can be a finicky go and you'll need to be sure the usb thumbstick you use is good but it's not terribly difficult. raised mine from the dead this week and its been smooth sailing so far.
This kind of crap has been my experience with all Chinese branded stuff. It's unsupported and unreliable. It's a legit cultural difference - they're more oriented toward churn and burn. Putting out quality, long-time supported devices is a foreign concept over there (literally).
All the Chinese crap I've bought over the years has taught me a lesson: it's cheaper (in the end) to just buy a more expensive, supported, branded device from USA, South Korea, or Japan. Cheaper either by time, headache or replacement churn. Just not up front.
Buy a new one from Wal-Mart and return your old one in the box. Tell them it didn't work and they send it back to the manufacturer.
I have the same exact problem today. It was frozen (not just had having dropped the controller connection) since 4:50 or so yesterday judging by the screen saver. I manually cycled the power, only now nothing outputs on HDMI. Cable tests fine, I tried the 2-finger remote and plug-in procedure to get to recovery and have gotten no output yet despite having success pulling up recovery in this method in the past. Device doesn't work on any TV, though it confused the HDMI on one hust long enough to ear about 10 seconds of think-time. Am I SOL and this is a permanen? If so, is the S worth buying or should I look into other options. Ideally, getting this back up and running for free would be better, but I'm willing to pay to make things work again if needed.
Same issue with mine.
Same exact thing happened to mine.. can't get into recovery either :/
How would you go about with a keyboard?
I already tried holding A+B with no luck
You've tried it on another TV? I've had my MiBox since it basically came out and it or the original remote has yet to break so I'm wondering what happened to yours. Did you mess with any ROMS or try downgrading or something?
