Netflix error code NW-6-400 on VU Android tv

by jjabrams1110

Hi All,

I bought VU Official Android TV with Android Oreo a couple days ago. when i tried installing netflix, it said that it might not be compatible with the device, but that i could go through with the install.

Once it was installed, when i tried to open it, it shows error code NW-6-400.

I tried chatting with netflix support, but iit seems even they are stumped with this issue.

They asked me to verify thrice that the error code was wnding with 400 and not 406, as 406 is a network issue.

Anybody else facing this issue? Any potential solution?

Had the same problem. Created a service request with VuTV. They sent me apks of netflix and primevideo and asked me to install through ES file explorer. I spoke to Netflix Customer Care also. They said They are in talks with VU and know about the problem. My primevideo keeps logging out of my amazon account. The picture quality of Netflix through sideload is not great and it doesnt support 4k.

It could be issue with Netflix latest app,, try once clicking Uninstalling updates for netflix from settings, apps..

If there also error, could be something network issue

Netflix must explicitly license each individual maker, Netflix authorization is not part of AndroidTV.

Ask VU if they have partnership agreement with Netflix.

I'm having the exact same problem. Got the TV today, and was very disappointed to see this! The network test says the connection is good - both with the internet and three Netflix servers. On installing the app, it did prompt that the device is not optimized for Netflix.

The installation professional gave me some bullshit line about needing to be connected via ethernet, yet 4K youtube videos are playing just fine..

Other issues I'm facing: Voice inputs are not working, No Prime Video..

Anyone got ideas about how to fix any of these??

Try changing the location to a country where Netflix / Amazon prime works. I changed mine to Australia. Works like a charm. Only problem being I don't get indian content / movies which are not licensed in Australia.

I have Encountered the same problem, I even tried calling VU helpline but no one picked up so I mailed them regarding the problem I encountered but no replies. But Iam really frustrated as to why does VU advertise that Netflix works on their TV when it doesn't. This is some really bad consumer baiting stuff. I think I need to return the TV now

ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS.

So I had a conversation with one of the support technicians who visited my house. I had bought the 1st model VU Android TV 55". 1st model means pre-installed Nougat and not Oreo. Netflix was compatible with it.

Post Oreo upgrade, the technician mentioned I'll have to live without Netflix since it's not yet licenced/permitted/whatever for VuTVs on Oreo. The only solution is using Android Remote app and Android (phone) Netflix app sideloaded.

As far as Amazon Prime is concerned, here you go (latest prime APK extracted from Philips TV I guess or Nvidia shield, using it since 4 months): https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjUqro7f8a9QkIpx1xuHHSBNve0Cjg

Same problem for me. Is there any way of reverting to android 7.0 as we know it worked fine on that version?

Hi every one,

I upgraded my Toshiba U7750 UHD ANDROID TV to oreo. I am facing the same problem with netflix. In the other side, YouTube is able now to play 4k. It was limited to 1080p in las firmware.

I contacted Netflix by phone and they said it’s a new problem and they are looking for answers.

I don’t know Any help ? Where can I get previous firmware?

Try the following steps: Download Netflix 4.0.0 5523 from any download site in your mobile. Using ES file manager app ,transfer to TV. Then install and open.

with the above i am able to open netflix but remote is not working. you can connect wireless mouse for operating the APP. you can watch play any video and watch but you can not turn on or off the sub titles.

Atleast with the above solution, i am able to watch the videos in Netflix . for more information please watch the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFz7wUzPZmQ

This is the official response from VU.

"The Vu Official Android TV range has been created exclusively in collaboration with Google after conducting extensive research. The TV offers official features of the Android Oreo 8.0 TV operating system, Voice Search, Google Play Store ( With Movies, Music , Games), YouTube and App store.

Additionally, we have pre-loaded popular Indian VOD Apps such as Hot star, Sony liv, Hungama Play, Alt Balaji and more. Amazon prime & Netflix is not included in the operating system but can be accessed with an additional streaming device/stick"
