Hey all,
I have an American Mi Box MDZ-16-AB that a few weeks back froze up and no only boots to the splash screen and does nothing more.
I would like to attempt to boot this into recovery and try flashing the stock rom, however I am having a terrible time finding any sort of clear and concise instructions/files for this box.
If anyone could give some guidance (or atleast a link to the latest stock rom) I would very grateful.
Thanks!
:Edit: I have koshergoy to thank for this info as well. He led me to saving the 2, and I'm working on the third.
I had 3, all three died at different intervals after last update 2303. I resurrected 2. 1 of the 2 I've had to flash twice.
The one I can't recover so far locks up on the 4 spinning Google icons before the white on black "Android" during boot.
In short, boot into recovery, wipe cache then wipe data. Then load the update in the thread I'll link here. I loaded 2179 without doing the previous build the build before 2179. Make sure to have the 2nd file 'xioami_update' on the USB stick with the update.zip file. After the wipes, I pull the power cord and plug in the USB stick, then power on holding the two remote buttons that load the recovery menu, but it should immediately read and install the update, displaying "installing updates." It will reboot a couple times while installing the update. Once done, pull the power, and if all went well, boot into (mostly) stable 2179.
Good luck!
