Mi Box 3 remote issues: can they be solved with newer version or another brand bluetooth remote?

Hey guys,

the issue I'm thinking about is that it might be hard to reconnect the remote to the box after a while. When I try to turn it on sometimes I have to pull the plug on the box and restart it, then I'm able to reconnect and use the remote.

I know there's a newer version of the official remote, is this better?

Is there a good alternative to the xiaomi remote?

I was having remote issues with connecting and wake. Starting up from sleep required jamming on the BT remote AND my USB remote while issuing stern Google Home commands and it only turned on 75% of the time.

I rolled back to 2179 and I haven't had an issue. It's only been a few days, so the problems might pop back up, but it's so much better ... for now.

Both of my mi box's remote stopped working within 1 week. Just look for a replacement like an Air Mouse. Or an app on a phone.
