Would the MiBox be enough?

by FlyingSquirrelArmy

I looking to move away to from cable for football, and would like use realiable acestreams and stream links. Especially as travelling for work will means i will be occasionally away during the week.

For me the saving of SkySports(£47) and BT Sports(£35) means the shield sounds like a good option, it is just the outlay and the price of MiBox making me think otherwise.

Anyone use either for football streams successfully? Can you copy and paste on either device with a bluetooth mouse?

Update (12/10) 12:21pm: People in this thread are either give mibox a try or hate it with a passion, so i tested an IPTV stream on 2 tablets, one near matching Mibox, and another matching the Shield.

Tablet( near MiBox): Not choppy, however dropped the buffer/restarted every other 5 minutes or so on a 1080p60 stream. Tablet(Shield): Ran perfectly, no stuttering.

Just get an IPTV subscription and use Perfect Player.

I've got a shield and a MiBox and am happy with both devices. I don't see that the shield is actually worth the $140 premium honestly.

penny wise and pound foolish just like too many others. buy the shield. then proceed

There would be very little practical difference between the two devices doing that. Walmart has a 90 day return policy. Buy the MiBox and return it if you don't like it.

honestly this is the only purpose I would buy an Android TV box for at this point, not that I've ever used one. But I am just assuming that acestream and vlc would work just as well as it does on my phone.

But who knows, maybe there's a reason why even that won't work as it should, like so many other things.

I watch one day cricket matches (7 hours) at Full DH on Mi Box without any issue.

Yes, I had issue with remote and ditched it long ago. I use Android remote app to control tv.

Shield. Buy once be done.

Poor man pays twice. Get the sheild the Mi box is a scam. I have three mi boxes non of them work as advertised. The video playback will be the issue for you. Sport playback will be choppy with a best case senario. But then again it might just not turn back on one day like others have discovered.

I know there seems like a potential firmware update that might fix issues. Dont hold your breath. Some of us have been waiting years for working firmware only to be disappointed.
