Shield TV + Google Assistant Issue

Since the recent added feature allowing voice control of the Nvidia Shield TV, I've been able to use commands such as as, pause the Shield, resume the Shield, turn up the Shield, etc with my Google Home and/or Google Assistant on my phone. However, the exact same voice commands do not work for anyone else in the house. They receive a message saying sorry, "I can't find that device" etc. Any ideas? We've tried rebooting the Home and the Shield with no success.

their assistant/home is linked with the shield? if not it may be the cause of the problem

Do they have the Home app? They should be able to request access from the app and you'll see the request from your app after a minute or two.

So... The rest of the family was already linked to the Shield TV, so that wasn't the issue. But, after adding them all as Home members, they were able to control the Shield via the Google Assistant on Home or phone. Thanks for all you help.
