This guy was so hung up with the ethernet port not being 1 gig. 99% of people buying this wont even need the full 100 Mbps speed it offers now. Netflix 4k is only around 40 Mbps give or take 10 Mbps.

Is this box officially certified by Google?

I really want this but difficult to get outside the US. I have the Mi Box 3 and honestly, it’s not worth even that low price.

Anything with a physical Ethernet port is superior to entirely relying on WiFi only for connectivity.

And in the Xiaomi - Mi Box's Oreo 8.0 case when you combine WiFi with buggy untested drivers you have a disaster waiting to happen on a device with no Ethernet.

Even on 2179 Oreo, Mi Box Firmware if you use a USB3 (Ugreen) > Ethernet adapter. There are major problems after the device wakes from sleep with it.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi can produce decent stable Firmware, that will either kill the new Mi Box S or keep it on life support !

The Jetstream is most certainly better than the Mibox. I have two Shields, 5 Miboxes and have had the Jetstream for 1.5 weeks. Jetstream is solid.

Nope to non gigabit capable network feeds. The shield still is one of the a handful of useful ARM based boxes for NAS and/or local content still.

No auto frame rate switching, fast eth, far from the android box of 2018.

Does it have Netflix certification? And is it a worthwhile replacement to the Mi Box 3 because mine has periodic flashing green lines on the screen

Just picked one up this weekend. Walmart website said only 1 in stock but there were 3 when I got there. Remote batteries and HDMI cable included in the box. Apps are running much more smoothly than my old (bricked) Nexus Player. The remote feels great. Mic works flawlessly. It's running on WiFi now, but will probably cut an ethernet cable to fit this week. Tried watching Star Wars Despecialized from USB. Thumb drive recognized, but not the video file. Need to find an app for that, I guess. So far, very positive.

I grabbed one to retire one of my many old Android TV boxes. Easy set up like my shield tv. Really snappy for a cheap box. I jumped on to eBay and snagged a cheap IPTV sub. That works great too. I'm happy with it.
