A TV running Android? Or. A TV with chromecast connected?
Bc I have a Sony android TV and I can't turn it on or off.... Just volume down and up.
Tried this on my Pixel 2 with my Sony XBR43X830C.
Google Assistant just passively aggressively said "Alright." and nothing happened.
Nice setup. I also have my Bravia hooked up to my Logitech Z5500.
I do this with a Nvidia shield, CEC controls and connected over my personal VPN. While connected to my VPN my phone acts just as it would if connected to the WiFi in my home. Very useful for everything from pulling files stored on my NAS to playing pranks on my wife and kids.
I use my Harmony hub (maybe through SmartThings?).
I can do this with my shield TV, however it takes a good 10 seconds for the shield to actually react. Any ideas why?
I have a Pixel 3XL and a Sony 55x930e and this was working for me this morning whenI had to unlink/relink my AndroidTV for troubleshooting reasons. Now it does not work.... But the weird thing is if I tell the Google Assistant to play something on the tv when it is off, it will turn on and play that thing. Do I have to turn something back on/off? What am I missing to get this feature working again??
Needed this in Home Alone.
