Mibox 1 Help

I started getting the startup screen with the icons but it would never go beyond that. A few days ago, it stopped displaying anything.

What I've Done
I've tried multiple HDMI cables and TVs.
I've changed 3 sets of batteries in the remote. (I cannot do the reset via remote.)
The power lights are on the mibox.
I took out batteries for 10 seconds while mibox was plugged in, pressed "OK" and "back" button at same time, unplugged the box, plugged power back in and nothing. I've also tried the back and circle button to see if i can get the controller to wake up then retry the reset.

I put an update zip file on a USB and plugged it in the usb port, plugged the power back in and nothing. I don't care if it erases everything, I just need it to work again. Any ideas?

When the MiBox is powered on, does the power light blink when you attempt to operate the remote?

I would connect it to a PC using a double male USB cable. Then I would use install ADB.exe on the PC and use it to reset the box. You would need to use the command line.

Same thing happened to mine. Such a trash product. I’ll never buy anything from them again. Think I’m just gonna pay the extra cash for a Nvidia Shield.

Welcome to the world of Mibox. You can try kosherguy's roll back instructions. It might hold or it might crap out again in a day or two. Mine worked for a whole day after I rolled back with several complete factory resets to ensure everything is clean. It's a crap shoot but you may be up the creek. If you have receipts, return it. You can also contact Xiaomi for a possible replacement but there are zero guarantees.
