Mi Box S streaming videos somewhat lower video resolution?

I have a 1080p TV, and was using Chromecast 2nd gen for a while and the streaming videos look sharp for the resolution.

Somehow, Youtube and Netflix (tested so far) on Mi Box S look rather toned down in the resolution. I checked on the resolution setting on the Android TV, set to auto 1080p.

This is of course, perceived, but i do notice the edges in videos are jaggier on Mi Box S.

Any recommendation to check and remedy this?

Edit: i checked, the Android TV home screen is sharp and clean.. only streaming videos that are a tad blurry on the edges..

Go to the YouTube app settings and turn on stats for nerds. I forget if its in the app settings or if its a Google while watching a video 🤔

It should tell you the resolution your YouTube stream is and reveal if a lower quality (720) stream is being used
