Philips TV and remote power on

by G4rp

Dear all,

I have a Philips 50PUS7303 TV with Android TV 7.0 installed on it.

I would like to do remote power on with Google Assistant, but no way :'(

My google home say that I have to enable some remote feature with HDMI...

Cheers

You have to find the HDMI-CEC setting on your TV and enable it. Not all TVs have this feature. Easy way is to download the PDF manual of your TV and search for the word CEC in it.

Same... No luck!

I've never managed to get it to work. Apparently it works on Sony TVs but they must be doing something that Philips aren't.

Google say you can't do it - https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7498991?hl=en-GB

I cant get this to work either, damn Chromecast Built-In. I wish this were possible and I wish Philips would do whatever Sony did to get it to work but I am betting they wont.

Only ever had this work by having a Chromecast plugged in, was never able to tell the Android TV built in Chromecast to turn it on - an external HDMI connected Chromecast was required.

Stupid, I know.
