I've had these boxes for 2 years with no problems. The one hangs at the Mi screen, the other hangs at the colored Android screen after.

Sounds like the same issue alot of people are having with the nexus player suddenly dying. Many think its a software update that caused the problem.
Mine did this recently, and happening to alot of people. I can't even access recovery with my remote. I ordered a mi box s which I get today but think I may return it and get a Jetstream.

Mine has been doing that for a few weeks now. I can get into recovery and factory reset it and it's fine for a few days,then locks up and I have to do it again.i going to try to downgrade mine to the previous Oreo build 2179 when I get home from work today and see if that helps.
Mine is on Oreo build 2303. Is yours?
