Xiaomi Mi Box 4K sound out of sync

Hi, So I just got a Xiaomi Mi Box 4K. No updates, since these are held back by Xiaomi currently. The box is connected to my amplifier by the SPDI (optical). I use the 1080p resolution (no 4K tv).

The problem is that the sound in Netflix always lags behind the picture. Sometimes by 0,5s other times by probably around 0,2s. This makes the Mi Box effectively unusable for me.

I tried rebooting several times. Tried the HDMI "Best framerate" fix. I'm a bit afraid of updating the box manually, as I hear the updates break more stuff than they fix.

I'd be grateful for any fixes or ideas.

Is this only with Netflix or do you have the same issues with other ago plus like YouTube? What about when you play local files etc?

This happens for me sometimes, and a (few) reboot (s) usually fix the problem. Still on 6.0.

Fixed my issues by connecting the optical from the amp to the TV instead of the mi box.

I have out of sync problems in oreo. Yes box is unusable.

UPDATE: The sync got worse - up to 5-7 full seconds of lag in everything (even local videos played from the box's own drive). Installed Oreo and the lag is GONE, at least for the first few hours of testing. No other issues appeared.
