Well, it finally happened to me. Reading there was a new update available I re-enabled Google Play Services. Did an update check. Nothing. Went to turn it off, later, light went off but display stayed lit. Unplugged, counted to twenty, plugged back in. Now all it does is what you see below. It's almost a relief. Now I can toss the verkakte thing and replace it with something that's not electronic garbage.

Just went to try to update our 2nd MiBox 3. Xiaomi really managed to screw us with this one. It's bricked but good. Doesn't come up with anything. Now trying to find a receipt to see if I can persuade Walmart to take it back. It's probably been too long, but it's worth a shot. I have to go back to return the now-unnecessary 2nd IR remote, anyway.
