It's not my thing, and neither Google nor ChannelMaster seem very invested in finishing what they started with Live Channels.

This is a good buy for someone who needs a single box solution for a single tv. It has two tuners, a free guide and DVR functions if you add an external hard drive. They plan to have the guide expanded to two weeks by the end of the year (but who knows? Right now it goes out 2 days but you can search for programs using Google assistant for two plus weeks). Chase play is also promised by the end of the year.
You can sideload both Amazon and Netflix; it's Android TV so you get the rest of the android streaming apps available for ATV.
You can also use it's attached hard drive as attached storage for a HD Homerun if you don't be want to use the native DVR functions.
