Android TV box with HDMI input?

by ThePlasticBling

I'm looking for a box that runs Android TV and has HDMI input so I can switch to my PC when not streaming content. Does something like this exist? I'm not looking for a box that runs regular Android (unless it's a stock looking ROM, the Chinese firmware that these manufacturers use are ugly), only Android TV.

I miss Google TVs hardware for this reason, they offered this setup on many devices...I don't think you'll find this in Android TV unfortunately.

You could buy an actual television that has Android TV as the OS. Otherwise it's not really the correct way to have Android TV and a PC connected to a TV. You either plug both into the TV via separate HDMI inputs, or if you're just that lazy to his the source button then get an HDMI switcher box and keep the TV on the same HDMI input.

Your tv/monitor only has one HDMI port? Unless you want to record a split connection from your PC I do not know why you would want the added delay.

An HDMI switch is probably the best option for you. There are models that will automatically switch the input for you.

Here's an example. I haven't used it, so I can't vouch for how well it works, but it sounds like it would do the job.

None exist.

As suggested get a HDMI switch.

Make sure the switch supports the correct HDMI standards and HDCP 1.x/2.2 as needed for DRm and copy protected video streaming.

I would start by looking at Monoprice stuff.
