Netflix hailstorm!!

Perhaps this is the beginning of Google certified, DRM-compatible, and Netlix supported ATV boxes with Android Pie. That would really be something. We need more competition. We need more producers and distributors. We want a real choice. We want HDR10+/Dolby Vision support. We want Chromecast that works.

Basically Netflix can be pre-certified by amlogic and other chip manufacturers. Some box makers jumped on board!

This could be great for giving us options on devices.

I wonder if this Netflix pre-certification agreement with the SoC manufacturers extends to requiring devices needing to have a Netflix button on a Wireless remote.

I don't think I've seen a new Netflix Approved - Android TV OS capable device lately without such a Netflix button.

The next Android TV sh1t show, that Google themselves need to sort out (especially in the budget streamer space) is requiring proper implemented Dolby Audio support on any new Dolby Audio Licensed - Google Certified - Android TV Pie devices - to stop end users being basically conned by deceptive sellers. (I'm looking at you Xiaomi)

There need to be some basic quality control.

I love the reply on CNX forum that stated Netflix would stream 1080p on any android device....

There are almost as many know-nothing idiots replying on CNX as there are on this subreddit.

I thought that was impossible, given the level of stupidity regularly on display here:)
