I noticed my wifi connection on my mi box had been more stable over the past few days but I had no idea why. Maybe it's related to the Android TV Core Services update but that seems unlikely.
From the app full name "com.google.android.tvrecommendations", it probably just the API for recommendations on the home screen.

I've seen this behavior on the Jetstream also. Not every time but often enough to be an issue. Haven't noticed for a few days, maybe the update solved it.
