Just ordered a mi box s to replace my old Nexus player. Wanted to keep Android TV but couldn't afford a sheild. Loved my NP but was getting old and buggy. Hope I made a wise choice with the Mi box.

Did the same but I live in EU. I am waiting for Gearbest to send me Mi Box S from China.
Please provide feedback on the new Mi Box S. I need a 3rd Android TV box (currently have Shield and Mi box) wondering if the "S" appears to be an actual upgrade from the original.
I'd probably check out the Jetstream. I haven't had the Jetstream but I've had a Mibox.
I had problems with it just freezing up where the remote working wake it up and had to hard reboot it.
And then it basically died where it never got past the Mi boot screen. There's no physical reset button and you need to rely on mastering some hard to do keypress on a remote that you hope it's working to get to the recovery to try to even try to fix it.
I'll probably going to see if they will replace it for me, but I wouldn't try it again.
I ended up just ordering a Shield myself but was able to get it for $130 (tax included) from Google Express using a promo code. I was considering the Jetstream myself but decided to pay double for something more recommended
The shield is currently 140$ on Amazon. Just fyi
First time AndroidTV user with MI box S. They just pushed an update and I lost the ability to use my usb drive :( ie i cant install sideload apps anymore.
Why not the jetstream 4k? $10 more ethernet port, SDcard slot, two USB ports.
