Can I use my DirecTV Now login?

Hey guys!

I currently am looking into getting a Shield TV since I just upgraded to a 4K TV. I use DTVNow and while I know I can only sideload, do tv apps let use the login feature. I can use my DTVNow login to access the Food Network app on my 4th gen Apple TV. Wanted to know before I buy.

Compared to apple tv, there are limited tv anywhere apps available on android tv. If you plan to use it for mostly tv anywhere apps/netflix/prime etc apple tv 4k is a better device.
Said that if you are planning to use it as a Plex server or IPTV etc Android TV definitely is better.

I ll try food app on shield tonight to see if DirecTV now login works and report back

Basically you’ll sideload FireTV apps, so as long as there is one of those you should be good. If there are ones you definitely need google search for them first.
